The Salcombe/Kingsbridge estuary is an area of AONB with miles of blossoming trees and flowering plants for honey bees to pollinate.

The bees forage on hawthorn, blackthorn, and bramble. In the autumn the abundance of Ivy found along all the creeks and inlets provide winter food for the bees to store in the brood boxes.
